Bug House Bay Adventures is based in a remote corner in the Northwest portion of the Shuswap region of British Columbia. We are so fortunate to be surrounded by impressive mountain ranges, lakes, rivers, temperate interior rainforest, glaciers, waterfalls, and some of Canada’s most pristine beaches.
In this part of the world we experience 4 true seasons. Our summers are very warm, and perfect for lake, river, and back country adventures. Temperatures regularly hit 30° + C and sometimes much warmer. Spring and fall are both long and magical, and winter sees a significant amount of snow making it a destination area for sledders and winter enthusiasts.

Bughouse Bay & Seymour Arm
Bughouse Bay is tucked deep within Seymour Arm, one of the most remote and untouched regions of Shuswap Lake. Sheltered by steep mountains, glaciers, and dense forest, this area is naturally protected from prevailing winds and heavy boat traffic. That isolation is what makes it special, and what allows for an exceptional number of calm water days, essential for maximizing surf time. There is a small community aptly named Seymour Arm, where you will find a nostalgic beachfront pub, a cozy restaurant, a store with all the essentials, and much more.
Shuswap Lake’s unique H-shaped layout, with over 1,000 km of pristine shoreline and countless tributaries, creates endless pockets of quiet water, but Seymour Arm stands apart. Accessible primarily by boat, it feels worlds away from the busier southern arms of the lake. The result is long, uninterrupted sessions on glassy water, dramatic alpine scenery, and a rare sense of wilderness that defines the Bughouse Bay experience.
